Tired of waste paper, pencil stubs, used stickies and other unused stationery items? Here are 4 innovations that can help you decrease your stationery waste.

 1) Staple away with the Stapleless Stapler

Staples have become a threat in many ways. The miniscule pins are choking the landfills and causing land and water pollution. The Stapleless Stapler is earth friendly as it does not use these miniscule metal pins. It cuts out tiny strips of paper and uses the strips to stitch up to five pieces of paper together. It is safer for children and more convenient to use. They can also be used even in food industry as there is no threat of any metal being used here.

2) Your trash just got recycled into toilet paper!

Office documents get wasted in abundance and recycling them is a must. This paper recycling machine shreds business documents and converts them into…wait for it…toilet paper. 40 sheets of paper are inserted into the machine and in about 30 minutes you’ll receive a freshly made roll of toilet paper. The machine shreds the paper completely, dissolves it in water, thins it out and then dries it and winds it around a roll. It costs just 6 Rs to churn out one roll.

 3) I’m sticking with you…and these reusable stickies

Post its

Sometimes even god can’t get a handle on post-its. Reusable stickies bring us relief as they are essentially note sized postable whiteboards or simply reusable post-it notes. They are double sided and come in all shapes and sizes. They have a stable static electric charge which keeps them charged for days. You can move and slide them easily without the notes falling down. One side is writeable surface for pencil, pen or marker. The opposite side is white-board friendly which makes it quite innovative. Rather than using glue which is harmful to the environment these notes use static electric charge. They stick to any dry surface, from wood to leather to other pieces of paper thereby making them extremely user friendly.

 4) One man’s trash is another man’s treasure

Goedzak translates to “good guy” or “kind soul” in Dutch. Goedzak bag is a special garbage bag for the items that are still usable. It is a semi transparent bag with the contents of the bags immediately visible to people passing by. People who find the contents of the bag to be useful can take it. One man’s waste does not have to be a burden on the planet, instead can be reused.

The bag keeps reusables clean and tidy, and discourages the careless practice of throwing trash on the road or other places. From the sustainable and environmental point of view this sharing of goods can be helpful to a lot of people who are in need of the same. After picking up the required goods, the left-over can be collected by second hand stores which either sell or recycle it.
