1. Solar bottle installations in MRS Palaya Slum households by Liter of Light Bangalore

When: April 19
Where: MRS Palaya, Nandi Durga Road, Benson Town
Time: 7 AM to 1 PM

Liter of Light is a global open source movement with the aim to provide an ecologically and economically sustainable source of light to underprivileged households that do not have access to electricity or are unable to afford it. Get more details about the installation event here.

2. Readers’ Majlis: Love in the times of terror.

When: April 19

Time: 6:15 PM – 7:30 PM

Paradigm Shift Café invites you for the re-reading of ‘Roll of Honour’ by Amandeep Sandhu. The novel was nominated for The Hindu Literary Award. Those who are not keen to read the novel are also welcome as the conversation will be all inclusive and it will be a space to explore our own diverse identities. Talk about love in the times of terror with a cup of green tea and some vegan cookies.

3. Launch of Buffalo Back store

4. Play: Koogu

When: April 19
Where: Ranga Shankara, JP Nagar
Time: 7:30 PM onwards
Price: Rs. 200

Koogu is the Kannada word for ‘shout’ or ‘call’. Koogu uses text (primarily in English), dance, sound, song, and music to give the audience new ways of sensing a performance. This performance employs several devices to unravel the layers and textures of meanings our everyday life contains.

5. Talk by Vikram Sampath on Archiving music and performing arts

When: April 19
Where: Bangalore International Campus, TERI complex, 4th main, 2nd cross, Domlur II stage
Time: 5:30 PM

INTACH Bangalore celebrates World Heritage Day with a talk on music and the arts. The well known author and co-founder of Bangalore Literature Festival,  Vikram Sampath will speak on music and the performing arts, and his work with preserving them. His talk is titled ‘Preserving the Aural: Archiving Music and the Performing Arts in India’.
