Through boardgames, cards, drawings, and paintings with arts, science and math twists, Flinto get kids to learn in a fun and engaging way with their Flintobox.

If you’ve ever felt that technology has taken over your child’s life, and are figuring out how to keep the idiot box switched off with something fun and engaging, you might want try the Flintobox! Through boardgames, cards, drawings, and paintings with arts, science and math twists, Flinto get kids to learn in a fun and engaging way with these boxes.

The box is meant for kids between 3 and 7 years of age, when, according to researchers, 80% of learning takes place, provided they have the right kind of engagement. Flinto comes in a 4 way learning process – creation through art, exploration through clues and hints, read through stories, and playing through games! Each process has a ‘how-to’ guide which clearly explains what they have to do and what your child learns in each process.

Flinto’s beginnings

Flinto was founded by Arun and Vijay, who realised that there are not many engaging games that keeps children flintobox-2-421x320occupied in the right manner. Speaking to Deepika who heads marketing, “Flinto caters to 12 developmental areas of children and based on educational themes that hook learning from schools and makes it an extension.” This is great bonding time between parents and their kids too; parents guide their little ones explaining how each activity works, with the child developing their vocabulary skills and sharpening that brain.

Launched in May 2013 in Chennai, Flinto has several awesome themes in each package like Shadow and Light, Fun with NumbersSpace Adventure, and their recent January theme, Wildlife Safari which has stories from the wild, learning about wild animals. The great part about these games is based on the belief that once a child creates something they tend not to throw it away; so if they built a four-wheel drive car, they keep it on their bookshelf or table lamp, or even a telescope which can used again and again!

Reading, imagination, exploring is the kind holistic development everyone wants for their child and that is what Flinto is all about.

What makes Flinto unique?

“The learning process put behind each game is unique.” says Deepika. “Everyone in the team puts into effort. A lot of the in house people are child friendly and have past experience as teachers so they know the effort it takes to take a child’s attention away from a gadget and onto an activity. This makes the entire product extremely different, we also test a product on a child to see how successive it will be and once we get the feedback we launch the product into the learning pack.”

Flinto also has a Mompreneur division, that works with mothers who join the community and earn, through a home-based business of selling Flinto to neighbours and friends, including conducting workshops
