Until now books have come from trees. Today, a tree will come from a book!

Planting a seed is a good idea. Planting a book full of good ideas AND seeds, even better!

The publishing house Pequeño Editor from Argentina has rendered a book that can grow back into tree once you’re done reading it. Pequeño Editor is a children’s book publisher which has come up with Plant a book campaign to show children that paper comes from trees. This is the first book that can be planted after it is read. Pequeño Editor says, “This is a book that returns to nature what it took from it.”

The project which is called Tree Book Tree uses acid free paper infused with a species of flowering tree native to Central and South America called Jacaranda. The book which was launched in March 2015 is printed with handmade silkscreen biodegradable ink.

The book written by Gusti Llimpi and Anne Decis is titled Mi papá estuvo en la selva (My dad was in the jungle). The story which has a strong ecological message is told from the point of view of a young boy. It is based on a true story from the Ecuadorian jungle. The ecological message from the story can be accentuated by planting the book itself thereby promoting the cause.

The aim of the book is to reduce the waste by encouraging readers to plant them instead of throwing it away. In order to make it environment friendly, the books are embedded with vegetable or herb seeds intended for a garden. This is one of the most innovative methods to teach people the importance of trees. It will offer people key hands on experience and will enhance the knowledge of children.
