Yet, some of the best places for winter sports and activities are nestled in the snow covered peaks of the mighty Himalayas. Like skiing in the snow peppered valleys of Gulmarg and Auli or the trekking over the frozen Zanskar river in the Chadar trek. In our chat for the week, Winter Sports, we hoped to learn as well as inspire the adrenaline rush of sporting in winters.

The discussion started with participants sharing their experiences of winter sporting in India.

While winter sports are based around locations that have good snow, India in its diverse terrains has much more to offer beyond snow. So, should the winter sports be restricted to snow?

The winter sports and destinations that made it to our bucket lists were shared.

So, what had kept us from going out and enjoying the season?

What was the impact on ecology of the winter sports? Was it ecologically sustainable? Or was it fun at the cost of disturbing the ecology?

On a concluding note, details such as necessity of previous experiences and finances were discussed. Winter sports were a fun way to get closer to nature with added health benefits. Top Skiing Destinations in India was shared to inspire people to get out and explore the thrill and the fun.
