After rattling the world of renewable energy with his brainchild SolarCity, Elon Musk has turned to the world of education and created an alternative school without grade levels. Father of five boys, Musk didn’t like his kids’ school, and started his own school called Ad Astra- which means “To the stars”. The year old school has 14 kids at present and quite particularly secretive. It has no website or social media presence whatsoever. All courses are taken by teachers that Musk himself handpicked from his sons’ old school. Ad Astra matches education with a child’s aptitude and abilities. The current school system made him unhappy and he started one that would approach problem solving differently. Not sure how long the school will continue, but right now, Musk says that his kids are happy and that’s all that matters.
