The results to our Mental Health Awareness Week poll: What is the biggest barrier to people seeking help when they are not mentally in the best of shape?

For our Mental Health Awareness Week, we asked you: What is the biggest barrier to people seeking help when they are not mentally in the best of shape?

After a week of voting, here’s what the poll results say:

Poll Results - Mental HealthWhile most people thought that the risk of over-analysing everyday crests and troughs was not a hindrance (only 9% for), they thought that the stigma associated with mental illness (33%) and a lack of general awareness of mental health (33%) were the biggest barriers to seeking professional help.

About 25% of our poll respondents also thought that being in a state of denial and not acknowledging the fact that one is mentally ill, is also a major concern for people.
